Hi Jonny! I’m not sure what you are referring to, but the American media is awash in the insane obsession with Tiger Woods and his sexual adventures. As for the braying part that is something a Donkey does or “Braying may be considered a simile for loud and foolish speech.”

Stephen… loving the stab at the trend of media to treat athletes / entertainers as newsworthy when they aren’t doing their jobs…. who cares what they do in their off time—i certainly don’t…. and quite frankly I am sick and tired of the media covering those groups of people and their extracurricular activities as if they had any impact on the rest of the world. No one really cares. The U.S. media whores are nothing more these days than the latest Jerry Springer shows in print. I long for the days when one could pick up a paper or watch the news and it was the whole truth, and it was thoughtfully researched and validated. Those were the days when it was worth taking my time to read and be able to form my own opinion about the topic without some media outlet telling me what i should be thinking or injecting their own slant. Keep blogging Stephen… always prods me to think about stuff…. and to keep it real.

Hello Mike, that was just my rant against the media obsession with Tiger Woods and his mistresses. Thanks for asking :-)

No, it is not an American thing, Jonny, it is a “stupidity” thing, as Stephen is saying he is also a media ho and a braying ass.

As though the vague references to other people’ blogs and books he has read and take ideas from were not enough, Stephen needs to be on the media coat tails and tries to be funny and hypocritically condescending to others who are doing it.

Not funny…. *unsubscribes self*

I will not be back to see if you added this, but at least read it and consider that even I, a fairly new reader, noticed your bad behaviour!!

Paullette. I don’t moderate comments, they all come in. Actually I wasn’t trying to be funny (well, except maybe for the “Scary Ass”). Although, I do admit to being sarcastic and condescending. I do think your comment about “being on the media coat tails” is quite funny. I must be more popular than my stats would indicate. Thanks for your comment.

Leave it as nothing but a passing thought. We’ve already talked about it too much.Don’t forget,if you or I were to perform the same acts as Tiger. The same process would be happening, only in a smaller circle.

Thanks

Derrick

Hello Derrik, I don’t want to talk about Tiger, except as another in a long line of people who seem to have it all and also seem intent on throwing it away. However, the subject of how our culture and what used to be news has gone insane might be worthy of discussion. Thanks for your comments.

I’m with Jonny. I’ve no idea what you’re talking about. The only thing I’ve read about Tiger Woods recently is that he had a car accident. It seems that something is also going on in his personal life? Thanks for the info, but really I’m not interested.

Just because they write this stuff doesn’t mean you have to read it!

Hi Elane, I don’t read it. Unfortunately my wife watches morning news shows, the evening news shows, and Entertainment Tonight. It’s all over the place every day. Even though I’m not watching it I keep hearing about it non-stop. Yesterday they were interviewing somebody who was speculating Tiger Woods was a sex addict. It’s ridiculous. That was what led to this rant. I just went and typed “Tiger Woods News” in Google and you can too if you want to see how pervasive it is. There was a time when I actually wanted to watch the news to see what was going on in the world. No more. Thanks for commenting.
